2005 – TAG HEUER MONACO GULF LIMITED EDITION (CW2118)
Released in 2005 as a limited edition of 4000 pieces, the watch pays tribute to the eternal “King of Cool”, Steve McQueen – the original Monaco’s quintessential ambassador. With its avant-garde square design and an irreverent white dial (a rarity at the time), it evokes the stylistic innovations of the mid-20th century.
The watch’s original colour scheme is reminiscent of Steve McQueen’s legendary driving suit in the 1971 movie Le Mans. This first edition inspired all the Gulf-branded Monacos of the series, each with a unique take on the Gulf theme. Gulf’s longstanding partnerships with motoracing giants makes them the perfect collaborator for our special edition TAG Heuer Monaco Gulf designs. This is the ONLY Gulf Monaco without the “Gulf” on the dial… “Monaco” is inscribed in the Gulf logo on the 1st Edition!
