Over 10 years ago, his first mass-produced watch design (The Devon Tread 1) was nominated for the prestigious Swiss horological Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG), also known as the OSCARS of the watch industry. Such a nomination is extremely rare for an AMERICAN designer in an industry largely dominated by Swiss watchmakers. The WILBUR brand was born.

A 3D space-frame chassis structure with suspended automatic movement and multi-layer dial and glass chapter ring; all surrounded by a 100m water resistant case and sapphire crystals all around gives you a perfect combination of technical sculpture and reliability you can count on for generations.
 
The Launch Edition, represents the ultimate next chapter in Wilbur’s potent design and character. It is the essence of a true statement timepiece while also being one of the purest of Wilbur designs. This level of execution is only possible through the merging of advanced design, old-school hand finishing, modern manufacturing expertise and serious refinement.
 
It’s a “daily driver” for those who love sculpture on the wrist – while demanding reliability for many lifetimes.
 
The main design concept was to create chassis-like architectural structures that make up the watch case, making for an extremely technical feel. The dial and movement components are similarly constructed to be “suspended” within the case while the chapter ring “floats” above the dial. All of this makes for a time-sculpture with a ton of character and multiple levels of depth like no other. 
 
The 9-part case was engineered to allow for a modular construction so unique pieces and limited series could be simply constructed from the core components. 250 pieces of each base version were made, but by assembling components from base models Jason creates new ultra-limited “Speed shop” versions. All Launch Edition pieces are individually numbered.

The Japanese movement was purposely chosen for it’s ultra-reliable “work horse” characteristics and solid history. Wilbur’s goal was to give new life to a movement never celebrated in such fashion and wrap it in modern art while providing customers with worry-free performance that would last many lifetimes.

 
The benchmark Launch Edition is offered in 316L Stainless Steel with multiple finishes and coatings, a Japanese Seiko NH35 automatic movement and sapphire crystals all-around with Anti-reflective coating and Luminescent hands and hour-markers. 1-off pieces are offered in different materials from time to time.
 
All Wilbur pieces are offered as exclusive Limited Edition, Small Batch offerings.
