The latest release from BaselWorld 2018. The 60 Atmos Blu Puro is based on their retro 50 Atmos DNA, and upsized with certain tweaks to it.

The case diameter is 42.7mm in diameter (44mm if we measure the bezel), 51mm lug to lug with a thickness of only 13.5mm, and a lug size of 22mm.

The Squalematic 60 Atmos is fully polished, and uses a flat sapphire crystal with anti-reflective treatment, fitting the neo-vintage theme.

The unique feature of the Blu Puro limited edition being the full blue Bund style (sterile bezel) bakelite bezel with 4 screws on the sides. The use of the bakelite material for the bezel insert gives the watch a certain warmth that cannot be created with modern material. This design cue is based on the mid-1970s Bund style Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, which was made by Squale too back then. There are no minute markers on it other than the luminous triangle at 12 o’ clock that glows in green matching those on the dial and hands. It continues he tradition with a 60 click bezel that ratchet positively into place with little to no play.

The sunburst blue dial is probably the highlight of the 60 Atmos Blu Puro. The dial design stays true to the Bundeswehr it pays homage to with many of the classic cues but with a modern twist to it in terms of the color. The refreshing sunburst blue dial, depending on the lightings, goes from a deep blue to a mid blue. Furthermore, keeping to the Squale DNA, the minute hand is orange in color for easy visibility.
