On an unusually cold night in March 2019, we met TGV of The Urban Gentry for dinner at a small restaurant in Astoria. Toward the end of the night, he produced from his pocket his vintage Lord Sanford Skindiver, and proposed the idea of doing a collaboration on a new model that could capture the intrepid spirit of the now discontinued timepiece.

Nearly three years and several prototypes later, we are proud to present the Safari, a watch that radiates the energy and charm of a bygone age.

The handsome devil is in the details. The Safari calls back to an era of rugged elegance, with its 36mm bubbleback-style case, heat-blued hands, and circular brushed, copper-colored sector dial. It’s the perfect companion for the stylish adventurer.

The Safari uses C3 Superluminova on its hands and markers. On the dial, the luminous compound is 3D printed at a thickness of 0.3mm to make for easy reading in low-light conditions.
 
Just like its forebears, the Safari sports a Hesalite crystal. It’s stood the test of time on the wrists of explorers, mountaineers, divers, and even astronauts. And it has a distinct clarity and charm sapphire just can’t replicate.
