This very well preserved Benrus Ultra-Deep model features the beloved 1960s dive watch design in a Super Compressor case with the two-crown system.

The 1960s was a great era for vintage dive watches, and there were a wealth of designs produced by both major and smaller manufacturers. Benrus was certainly one of the companies that produced several dive models under the name “Ultra Deep” during this period. This example is the desirable two-crown version with inner rotating bezel. The case is almost 37mm, and with the two large crowns on the side, it certainly gives the watch a larger appearance overall. With the EPSA (acronym for Ervin Piquerez, S.A. – the producer of this Super Compressor case) logo and Brevet patent numbers engraved on the inside caseback, it proves that this watch was produced as a genuine tool watch for divers. The dial layout is clean and clearly legible, with large luminous indexes and elongated minute tracks. Otherwise a rather serious looking watch, Benrus added a charming touch with an unusual luminous handset that adds a certain playfulness to the watch.
